What stories were read today in class?
What story did you read? What was your favorite part?
Who were some of the characters in the story?
What literacy station did you work in today? What activity did you do there?
What math tub did you choose?
What did you write about in your journal or Draft book?
Did you learn a new poem? What is it about?
Did you learn a new sight word?
What are you looking forward to doing tomorrow?
If these types of questions don’t spark communication, tell your child about your day. Be a role model and open up to your child, and then perhaps he or she will do the same for you.
