Mrs. Dunn
Counselor
Beckham Elementary
As Beckham’s counselor, I serve the entire student body as well as parents and faculty. This is an amazing school and my job here is to make sure each day is a positive learning experience for everyone who enters our doors.
Students come to see me through self-referrals, teacher referrals or parent referrals. The students know my door is always open.
I teach guidance lessons each six weeks to each grade level. These lessons cover topics like: self-esteem, bullying, goal-setting, social skills, peer pressure and responsible behavior.
I offer group counseling to those students who need guidance as well as peer support. My group topics include: friendship, school success, anger management and self-esteem.
This is my 10th year with the AISD, my 4th year at Beckham. I am also an Arlington native and attended Miller Elementary, Young Junior High, and Martin High School. I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in counseling, both from TCU.
If I can ever help you or someone you know in the Beckham family, please contact me through the front office or email jdunn@aisd.net.
