What's New with Mr. Cobbey? Mr. Cobbey got to visit China this summer with his family. It was a fun trip. He got to see some amazing places, including some of the places where the Olympics were later held.

The Great Wall. Here's Mr. Cobbey on the Great Wall of China. It's more than 2,000 years old and longer than 1,500 miles. That's as long as it is from Texas to California or New York.

The Forbidden City. This is Mr. Cobbey and his wife, son, brother, and sister at the Forbidden City. This is where China's emperors used to live.

Guardian Lions Mr. Cobbey's wife and son are in front of one of two lions guarding the entrance to a building in the Forbidden City. Mr. Cobbey learned something new about these kinds of lion statues. There is always a male and a female lion. The female (the mother) has a lion cub under her paw. The male (the father) has a ball under his paw.

The picture is a female lion because she has a cub under her paw.Guardian Lion. Can you tell whether this is a statue of a male or female lion? Point (but don't click) on the picture to find out.

Village Life. Mr. Cobbey and his family also got to visit some small villages in China. Here his wife is standing in front of a water buffalo.

Emperor Cobbey? Here's Mr. Cobbey with his brother dressed like a Chinese emperor. When the emperor was alive, no one else was allowed to wear yellow because yellow was royal color.

Little Emperor. Mr. Cobbey's son, Daniel, makes a much cuter emperor than Mr. Cobbey, don't you think?

The Stone Forest. The Stone Forest is a beautiful location near Kunming, China. There are thousands of picturesque rocks that almost look like a forest of trees.

Above the Forest. Mr. Cobbey is standing here with his wife and son in a pagoda overlooking the Stone Forest.
