A bit more about me
I was born in the great state of Texas, but I lived in Montana for all of my school years including the first two years of college. I met and married Glenn, my husband of 43+ years, my second year in college. We have five children, six grandsons, and one granddaughter, to date. We have lived all over the United States and in Sierra Leonne, West Africa.
Although I always wanted to be a teacher, I achieved that goal later in life. I graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTA in 1999 while teaching for three years in a Content Mastery Class in Midlothian, TX. After my graduation, we moved back to Hamilton, Montana where I taught 6th grade for 6 years. During that time I completed a Master's Degree from University of Montana. In 2005 we returned to Texas where I was employed as a fifth grade teacher here at Beckham. For the past several years I have taught science which I really enjoy.
I am English as Second Language certified as well as Gifted and Talented and Dyslexia certified. In addition, I belong to the following societies: Kappa Delta Pi, The International Honor Society in Education, Sigma Tau Delta, The International English Honor Society, and Golden Key National Honor Society (academic excellence).
During my time at Beckham, I have sponsored the Beckham Step Team and worked with students on Math Olympiad. I also cooridinated the Cardboard Boat Regatta one year.
