Here's what's happening:
Welcome to Third Year Latin!
First week: You'll be submitting your summer assignment, receive introductory letters, etc. on the first day ("C") of school. You'll receive last year's final, and then we'll begin a short review. You'll be translating a Latin story about the Labors of Hercules. We'll use this as a basis to review quickly the grammar you've learned so far.
Reminder ofGood News: No Notebooks this year - and you'll have some fun projects to complete!
9/9: We'll check your translation of Ch 5 of the Hercules packet. Then you'll receive your test from Hercules Ch 1-4. I'll issue you the project for this six weeks - due on Sept 25th. We'll begin Ch 6, which you will finish for homework. Next test on Ch 5-7 on Sept 15.
9/11: We'll check your translations and then continue with Section 7. Homework: Study for Hercules 5-7 test.
9/15: Test on Hercules Ch 5-7. Then we begin Ch 8. Homework: Finish Ch 8 of Hercules.
9/17: After checking homework, we'll review your test. Homework: Finish Ch 9.
9/19: We'll check your homework begin Ch 10. Homework: Finish Ch 10 and test on Hercules 8-10
9/23: Test on Hercules 8-10. Then, I'll issue the excerpts of Livy's history of the founding of Rome. Homework:
Reminder: Project is due on September 25!!
9/29: We'll continue with Section V and into VI.
10/1: Continue with Livy and finish the translation. Homework: Livy test
10/3: Livy test. Then you'll receive your Caesar Invasion of Britain.
Your Queen Boudica project is due on Tuesday, November 11
11/7: Now that we've finished with Caesar, we'll be using the Ecce Romani books for a short time. Homework: Answer the Exercise 2 questions on p 5 and translate the short section on p. 7.
11/11: Queen Boudica project due. Then we'll address your homework and continue translating. Homework: "C" p. 19
11/13: We'll check your homework and finish out the Eutropius short history account. Then, I'll issue you information about Cicero. Homework: Cicero Biography quiz.
