Depending upon how busy your week is at home, your child may double up on what question numbers to complete on the Drops in the Bucket activity. For example, completing all of side 1 Monday. My caution to you is that you make sure he/she has completed what is required to be done for the next day.

Spelling Pretest is Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday)
Spelling Posttest is Friday
The spelling homework packet focuses on the skill for the week. Not every page is working on their spelling list. Your child will check his or her own spelling pretest in red pen. Self-correction is a research-validated technique that leads to improved learning. The student will place a dot below each correct letter, circle each incorrect letter, and draw a circle for a missing letter. Then the student will rewrite the word correctly. The students place circles to see the part of the word that gave them trouble.
This six week period students will be responsible for taking one AR test a week.
The AR test will be over a book that he/she read during silent reading at school.
I will provide time during the week to take the test in the classroom.
Look for graded papers to come home every Wednesday in the blue folder.

We will be participating in the Braum's reading incentive program. Each time your child takes an AR test at his/her reading level and passes it, a stamp will be added to your child's stampboard. When your child earns six stamps, he/she earns a sweet treat from Braums! Please keep the stampboard in the binder for safe keeping.
