"It Starts With Me!"

Thank you for sharing your precious child with us this year. This will be an important transition year for many of our students because of the change from TAKS to STAAR. With increased rigor and an accelerated pace and depth of our curriculum, our students will need more time and better organizational skills than ever before.
Will you help us help your child become that successful independent learner? Many of our students have the opportunity to work on classwork/homework in a quiet environment with multiple resources available during the school day. Students are encouraged to seek help or clarification from their teachers. You can help by offering a similar environment at home with uninterrupted, focused time to complete assignments. You can help by making education a priority.
Children today are involved in many, many extracurricular activities. By definition, that is extra, beyond the designated curriculum of school. Will you encourage your child to put school first? Will your child know your expectations for success in school will also be society’s expectations for success in life for him or her? Will your attitude and comments reflect your respect for the importance of education?  We promise to keep our “agenda” focused on making sure your child is very well prepared for the rigors of each grade level’s curriculum and beyond. We invite you to check out the Texas Education Agency website for details on the increasing demands. We need your trust and support in order to meet and exceed the academic demands and responsibilities for which we are expected to present to your child.
Thank you for continuing to check ledgers, webpages, and Parent Self-Serve to monitor your child’s assignments and performance. Ask your child for details of the lesson and let your child know you are depending on them to take responsibility for their  learning. Ask your child’s teacher for ways to help your child take on these increased responsibilities. Continue to help your child with organization and time management. Your child needs and deserves a strong, positive partnership between home and school, particularly if they are involved in extra-curricular activities. Thank you for making your child’s education a priority; it’s a priority with us!!

Expect Moore! Be Moore!
